So I'm about done with my Mame cabinet (I have to update my blog with the pics :) ) but then I had a thought: is it possible to have a dual function machine? The thing is, I really love to play Golden Tee, especially when other people come over, but of course Mame doesn't support the newer versions. What I'm wondering is this: can I buy the boards and all from a newer version of Golden Tee and connect it to the setup I have now? I have a Betson 27" Multisync, so the monitor should work, I think. Is this even feasible? There's no way I can build another cab for it, even though I would love to. Let me know your ideas. Thanks!

Very possible. I'm leaving for work in a few minutes, so I can't look it up for you right now - but google for 'multi jamma'. If you have a JPAC it should be easy, if not there are still ways to wire it up.
I've got a machine that was wired for Moon Patrol and Mario Brothers, with a switch to flip between them. It's a project that I'm now trying to get rid of, but if those two games can be wired together then anything can!
P.S. I'm not the one who wired them, and haven't even figured out exactly how it's working - it's a rat's nest!

We'd need to know whether or not his MAME cab is JAMMA compliant for that... but sure, it's possible no matter how your cab is wired.

I have run a JAMMA-based MAME and GT in the same cabinet with no problem at all.
You need to tell us what controls/components you are using and how they are interfaced before we can start giving you advice.
For example, in my Multi-JAMMA cabinet, I had a basic 2-stick/6-button MAME configuration interfaced via the JAMMA harness with auxiliary buttons connected directly to the JPac. The trackball was only used for GT and was connected directly to the PCB. This made things very easy when used in conjunction with Clay's MJ kit.
Your configuration is likely different and may pose some challenges.
So whadya got and how is it hooked up ?
Cheers

I have hope! :) Right now my cabinet is hooked up to a pc with an Ipac for the joysticks/buttons (ps/2) and an optipac for the spinner/trackball (USB) I have the monitor, which is a Betson 27" Multisync, hooked up to the pc with a standard vga cable. I have no JAMMA connectors hooked up in my cabinet at the moment. Let me know what else you need to know. Thanks!
