Title: Mamewah screen flicker...help
Post by: greaser on November 16, 2006, 09:22:32 pm
I have my desktop set to 640 x 480 and also have mame set to run at 640 x 480. I'm using a 640 x 480 layout on mamewah. When I start mamewah I get a screen flicker (as if resolution has just changed). I don't get the flick when starting a game under mamewah but when I exit a game and also when I exit mamewah I get a screen flicker. It seems as if the screen resolution is changing. Any way to fix this? Since everything is set to 640 x 480 why is this happening?

Since you set it to 640 x 480, I would say the screen flicker is caused by the refresh rate. Sorry, I'm not a Mamewah user, but I'm sure there is a setting in there to change it. If it is a computer monitor you are using, then I would recommend setting it to at least 60 Hz. If not, then match it to your monitor (arcade?) - 15, 25 or 31 Hz...

Great work! Just as an FYI, what was it set to, and what did you have to change it to? Also, what kind of monitor are you using?

I'm using a 27" TV. Didn't realize you had to set the layout to 32 bit color (it was 16 bit by default). That seemed to be the culprit. Just having a sound issue now in Mortal Kombat 2 (sound never seems to stay at full volume. I'll address this in another board.
