Title: Computer Space on eBay
Post by: More Cowbell on November 14, 2006, 10:48:48 am

This is right near my house so I could pick it up for you and store it if one of you wanted to buy it. It would store nicely plugged in next to my other cabs.  ;D

The picture of the coin counter shows 832. I wonder how many times that thing has rolled over... or if it's even original.

Don't you just love how these idiots always say - "it's not working, but probably just a simple fix - I just don't have time to do it." Riiiiight....

Most of the time it is a simple fix.  Making the fix requires low novice skills.

Diagnosing the problem... that's where the expertise is necessary.

yeah, judging from the coin slot wear, I'll bet there should be at least a 1 at the front of those two zeros..:-)

I read this as " Hehe, it does not work (totally broken beyond repairs) and time to get some $$ for it so, I'm gonna try to sell it to some zuckerz"

Still its a nice Cab, but definitely only for collectors IMO.

That thing is so old, and those are so primitive, that I'd be a lot more wary of a "100% working Computer Space" than of one that has problems.

After the novelty has worn off that you actually own one, is the game even any fun?

Nope - the game sucks, and the controls suck. This is totally for bragging rights...

That's just an opinion thing.  People who remember the game from when it was reasonably recent would have a different opinion.  I enjoy it.  It's like Combat in space instead of with tanks.

Even if that's the case, is it good enough for the average person to pay that much for it?

(And I don't want to hear, "well it's worth that much to someone".)

don't let marknetwork get his hands on it; he might turn it into another house of the dead cabinet.   ;D  just joking.

it was interesting to see this auction because i just saw a program on CNBC about the history of video games tonight and they talked about this arcade.  good stuff.

C'mon, just drop a frankenpanel in the front of that thing and you'll be featured in the next round of Crapmame.  ;D
