Title: Classic videogame ART show opening this weekend in Minneapolis
Post by: NOP on November 13, 2006, 10:31:07 am
For those of you living in the twin cities area, this Friday night is the opening for a month long video game art exhibit at the Altered Esthetics gallery in North Minneapolis.

My MAMEified Galaga cocktail machine will be there, and it would be great to meet up with some other BYOAC members there.

I am going to try and be there on Friday.  I'll be wearing a black xbox live shirt.
Since I am not that familiar with the twin cities area (I'm a Rochester native) I should have a fun time trying to find this art place.

Does the show cost any money?

Thanks for posting I had no idea anything like this went on in the twin cities.  Usually these things are in Chicago or some other far away land.

The show is free, and here's a google map to get you started finding the place:

It's just north of downtown Minneapolis, about 1.5 blocks West of Broadway and Central.
The gallery (like all cool galleries) is located in an old warehouse in a manufacturing district.

I'll be on the lookout for you.

This gallery (I'm not affiliated with them, just a rabid fan of the type of shows they do) is really very progressive and underground and hip and cool.  The show that just came down a week ago was called "the art of horror" and had all kinds of horror themed photos, paintings and sculptures.  (spooky stuff is another interest of mine, so 2 shows in a row that are right up my alley-how can I not be a rabid fan?)
