I have been recently adding console emulators to my cab. I currently setup these emulators to run with my arcade control panel. I have been very frustrated playing these games on the old arcade panel since it feels strange. I bought some new Gravis Gamepads Pro USB (ie playstation). These work great for these emulators and friends enjoy them very much. But my main concern is how to mount these gamepads. Should I have them hanging by the side of the arcade cab? Should I use a hook or basket type of retainer? Anyone out there have both like I do?

I have a pair off game pads on my cab.
What I do is wrab the cords around them and I store
them in my pull out keyboard drawer fastening them to the surface with a small piece of velcro on each controller.
For my Act-Labs light gun I made a holster out of leather and fastened it to the side . I don't think it would look as good with pads but if you just need an out of the way place to store them it should work.

Why not mount a small USB hub in your control panel.. and just plug them in when you need em.. and unplug them when you don't?

I plan to do something like that, but I'm not really sure how to mount USB ports. I think I want to use USB extension cables and just mount the ends so they're flush with the splash panel, but I can't think of a way to mount them there and keep them sturdy. Any ideas? Has anyone done this?

What I would like to do for mine, is try to emulate places where they have a system setup to sell console games/machines. Where the controllers are set to a sturdy piece of flexible plastic about 8-16 inches away from the console. You could make a dedicated board with these attached and discreetly have a USB input. Plug the USB in and latch the board and you have em there. Just a strange idea I guess.. :o
