Hey guys,
So i've been looking for a while now and I'm not sure what to get. My coin door is a Tempest door. All that its missing is the Red coin reject buttons on the top. Im not sure where to get replacements for these. Could someone send me in the right direction so i get the right ones? Thanks

Tempest had a Coin Acceptors brand (a.k.a. "Coinco") coin door. Some of the video arcade parts suppliers still have NOS stock of these reject button, but the supply is drying up. Several years ago Coin Acceptors and Ardac were bought out by Money Controls. Then Money Controls proceeded to liquidate Ardac and closed out the coin door and amusement game products division of Coin Acceptors.

I bought a couple of replacement coin return buttons for my Tempest coin door about 6 months ago from an outfit that I think was in Florida. They work okay Except they are red and not orange. I had to modify my springs a tad because the post on the back of the button wasn't long enough to allow the pring to keep the button pushed out all the way. I also got some coin return flaps and coin entry and return bezels.
I had to modify the bezels to get them to fit, and the coin return flaps aren't even close to the right thing.
I'll try to find the name of the company I got them from. As stated, the coin retun buttons (red instead of orange) are accpetable, the bezels sketchy, and the flaps are garbage.

A few pics of the replacement parts I got, how they look installed, and things to look out for.
First and second pics show the original tempest coin return button (orange) on the left and the replacement (red) on the right. The thin plastic tab toward the bottom is longer on the original. The post is also thicker. I had to modify (really just stretched) the spring to make it longer in order to keep the coin return button. I also had to make the end loop of the spring a little bit smaller in diameter so it would hold on the thinner post of the new button.
The third picture shows the new buttons in the door.
The fourth shows the original coin button bezel (where you put the coin in) on the left and the new coin return bezel (where you get your rejected coin back) on the right. The coin return bezel that you can get as a replacement is practically identical to the original. A very good fit. The texture of the molded plastic is slightly different.
The fifth pic shows the replacement coin return button bezel installed. No issues with installation on this bezel.
The sixth pic shows the sad state of my current installation of the replacement coin retun bezel. You can see the gap where the bezel does not rest up against the door very well. This is a result of the tabs you can see on the 4th picture above. The plastic the screws go into in the replacement coin return bezel sticks up a bit and it is also larger in diameter than the original, I think. I never had originals to compare it to. I had to cut them down a bit and also drill the holes in the coin door a bit larger to accommodate diameter of the pegs. I have a bit of work to do still. Be aware if you buy these that they are not plug and go.
