It's time to start building my third cabinet and I've already used finger board VGA to Jamma method, and on one cabinet i'm using the new ArcadeVGA card.
This time i'd like to bypass all that and go direct VGA with the D9200.

My only concern is the physical cabinet that would be required to house such a monitor.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I'm looking to take the easy way out and buy an already pre-made kit needs to be assembled instead of cutting the wood myself.

let me be first to say... "huh?!"
It's just a 27" arcade monitor... so i'll go out on a limb and say... any current game that has a 27" monitor currently in it would probably work...
I suggest if you are buying a "kit" you ask the "kit" seller if the "kit" supports a 27" monitor... or you could ask a more specific question like, "what are the dimensions on this monitor? I want to jam it into a centipede cabinet will it fit? "(probably not) =P
Do you have some kit vendors in mind to show us what you are looking to do, so we can say... "yeah pick the model b cabinet kit as it'll fit your monitor best"...
There's a decidely lack of info in your post to be able to give you any sort of reasonable answer...
I also wonder if you've made 2 other cabinets, why are you confused by this, I don't understand at all? *shrug*

yea i wasn't too specific -DOH!
anyways the other 2 i made, i had just gutted an existing neogeo cabinet and a golf cocktail table.
I guess what i'm looking for is a recomendation of a specific generic kit. I don't want to buy an already pre-built existing game and gut it again.
i've seen some nice namco style cabinets in the past, but again these were dedicated to specific games.

there aren't that many kits avaialble (to my knowledge) where you put together your cabinet like furniture you get from walmart or what have you...
There's like 2 that I know of... so i'm wondering if you've found more that you could share.

The only place i've seen so far that sells generic cabinets is mass systems.

They sell them as pre-built only though and they jump the price up on the wells gardner monitor :(

http://www.arcadedepot.com/ (http://www.arcadedepot.com/) makes pretty neat cocktail kits... but I don't think a 27" monitor would fit =P I'm looking for that other place that has "kits" that are CNC cut parts and like 4player CP's and stuff... (he sometimes sells on ebay) *shrug*

EDIT here (I think anyways) is another kit that does even support 27" monitors.... arcadeshopper.com mame kits (http://www.arcadeshopper.com/mame/mamekits.htm) good luck

I know you said you didn't want to gut an existing game, but this may help for size comparing: I built my machine out of a Konami 4 player cabinet (TMNT) and was able to mount the D9200 in it just fine. It required a little work (had to create a "slot" for the bottom flange and a brace for the top flange to lay against.) Originally, this cabinet had a 25" monitor in it.

Thank you both for the information I'll look into both options, especially the idea of a 4 player cabinet. more than 2 players would be a nice addition. I also don't have any track ball or dials on either of my cabinets :(

Only problem with those cabinet-kits is thie price. $550 for that kit. Ouch! You can get a used full game of the same size for $300 or less. (I got my TMNT for $375 at an auction, and that was spending too much just to get the darn thing.)

The arcadeshopper cab is the one I originally wanted, but the best he would ever do was about $450 plus shipping would be close to $200. That's why I ended up making my own of the same Simpsons style: http://www.newwave.net/~flanham/wlanham/arcade/
The very last picture at the bottom of the page shows it practically finished.
I considered having a local shop cut these out for kits, because I'm pretty sure I could beat arcadeshopper's price by a good margin.
Back to the topic. I used a D9200 27" in my cab. The inner width of my cabinet (between the two large side pieces) is 27", and my monitor BARELY fit with a 2x4 frame around it. We actually had to put some small notches in the 2x4's to get the monitor to fit. If you made a thinner frame, there would be plenty of room. There is 1.5" of space on each side of the monitor (in my cab, the 2x4 frame takes up this space).
I'll probably take some pictures of the way it is mounted in a few days when I pull out the monitor to install the new board for my broken D9200. :/

hey that looks really nice and has given me the incentive to drag ---my bottom--- to home depot and whip out the table saw.
heres one of my cabines... the page is very dated as i've changed the setup a bit and i never added my cocktail cabinet to it... another project put on hold.
