Title: neo-geo to mame machine project.

hey guys i am going to be turning my neo-geo machine into a mame machine.

i have just ordered a j-pac and wanna know if thats the only thing i am going to need..

my pc has these specs..

700mhz celeron
256mb ram
8 gig hdd
winme..i know.

i will post pics of this setup on friday if i get the j-pac by then..

What kind of games are you wanting to play?

The 700mhz machine may have some issues with some games... depending on the games and the version of mame you are using.

i hope to be using the mame thats on fraggals boot cd...whichever version that is..

or i will give spystyles another try on this different machine with 0.55..

I wouldn't put any PC with a processor lower then 2.2ghz in a cab, that way you ensure all mame games that are playable work and you can also run almost any PC game like i do on my cab.

The Dreamcast emulater needs more then 700mhz as does alot of N64 games, if you're into console emulation and want to not be limited i would get a better PC. If it's just for mame it should work decent enough.

Good Luck Robot,

I am doing the same thing with my neo geo lowboy cabinet. I am maming it but using all galaga artwork as it was my favourite game in the 80's.

I will do a project post soon and we can comapre and share ideas etc?
