Title: Cannot get Gauntlet working in MAME .106 after hours and hours

I've downloaded many different versions of Gauntlet, and have tried rebuilding the roms with clrMamePro until I was blue in the face.  I simply need to get this one game working in MAME 106. Is there an easy way to do this? Whenever I start it up, I am always missing files. Even following CLRMame tutorials I am still not understanding what to do with CLRMamepro. Thank you for helping.

Which gauntlet are you trying to get working?  The original ones or the newer ones?  Which files are you missing?

Don't you need the CHDs for Guantlet Legends and Dark Legacy?

Primarily I want the original Gauntlet to work.

The following files are missing from my current build of the rom.
74s472-136037-101.7u
74s472-136037-102.5L
74s472-136037-103.4l

Yes those are needed for the original gauntlet. You do not need any CHD's.

MAWS is a quick on-line way of seeing what roms are required for mame to run what game:

Seeing as you have used ClrMame (which will correct any old spellings etc..etc...) it looks like your 'source' for the gauntlet roms is incorrect/incomplete.

I believe that those 3 files are the "proms" which were only added to mame since version 0.105u4. This is probably why what you have does not work as they are slightly out of date. So its possible that a version of mame before 105 (e.g 0.104) may well work with what you have (although roms may have changed name).

Note, if that fails, don't ask about downloading roms as its against the rules.
