Title: Ultimarc avga card driver, where do I put the file?
Post by: rackoon on November 02, 2006, 12:36:22 am
I built a MAME only computer (for fun) out of used parts from eBay. It works well so far.

I have a ultimarc avga card and need to install the driver and control panel. It didn't come with the CD so I downloaded the correct driver and control panel off their site and now they are on my desk top.

Don't I need to stick these files somewhere to make them work? I opened them both and looked inside and found several documents and I'm not even sure witch one to click on because there are several that say start up on them.

Could someone put me on the right path. Any help would be great, thank you. :P

If you haven't already you need to remove any old ATI drivers installed on your pc.

You need to install the drivers first  - try setup

then the control panel  -try setup

or you could just read this:

I have read that several times. Its just that I suck at computers. I'm never totally sure of what I am doing.

I haven't tried removing any drivers yet but the hard drive is new and I haven't installed any. But I did have to use an old video card to install windows. I just plugged it in and it worked with an old PC monitor.

Regardless, now I'm hooked up to a real VGA monitor with the ultimarc videocard. It looks real nice until it freezes when windows starts up.
