Title: Remote Control Power Strip
Post by: Texasmame on November 01, 2006, 08:34:55 pm: Found this at Wal-Mart in the Xmas stuff, priced as marked.

Not quite the same as a SmartStrip, but - hey- it's only $10 or so. :)

It was cool because you could plug multiple things into it, and it came with a small remote which you could locate anywhere indiscretely. Another advantage was that I didn't have to fish wires through walls. I can see how this would be of use for a cab.

Works great! Smallish clicker and the thing has quite a range - was turning it on and off from the other room with ease. :)

Post by: Taborious on January 15, 2007, 09:26:59 am: I have used this on my cabinet for over a year now. Just plugged the power strip into the power controller and then plug that into the wall. Leave the remote in my keyboard tray and it has worked perfectly, One click and everything comes on. I set my PC BIOS to turn on on power up and the TV as well so no worries...
