Title: idiot in need of help
Post by: myntik1 on October 31, 2006, 09:08:52 pm
Recently I overcame my fear of monitors and jumped in with both feet.  I just did a cap kit and replaced the flyback on a G07.  Now my monitor looks like this.  I'm a monitor newb - is this caused by bad soldering or did I not hook something up right.  Ken, Saint, Peale - someone HELP!(http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e34/chase5805/Picture.jpg)

You have no vertical deflection. Bob Roberts explains in his G07 monitor page.

You might have a crack/break in the leads of the two vertical output transistors or there's a "fuse resistor" in the vertical circuit that fails (usually it's very delicate & breaks easily) if you bump it while doing the capkit (in the vicinity of capacitor C412).
