Title: trackball ring: update
Post by: darkmanx on April 03, 2002, 03:24:57 pm
Hey all. I just wanted to give an update on the trackball ring idea Elkor had. it was to use a speaker port. Well i ordered the 2" one and it it PERFECT. the tubing part will be cut down so just a ring is left. the hole is the EXACT same size as the crystal trackball top piece, cant get better than that. the plastic is easy to cut and i will get some pics up once its installed. THANK YOU ELKOR!! the link to the product:

also, i finally plugged in the trackball today. it seems newer crystal trackballs have the lighting color reversed. the ball is lit green by default, and turns red on a button click. i havent changed anything on the unit, thats how it came.

FYI, my Crystal Trackball has those lighting colors as well... green when no button pressed, red with button pressed. I don't like it. The green is kind of sickly and pale, the red is nice and bright. I might reverse the colors, or just supply my own LEDs.
