Title: Registry Tweaks

I've started an XP build script found here: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=59353.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=59353.0).  One of the things I'm trying to do is make it easier for everyone to implement my settings.  As such I'm compiling a registry file that will make all the changes auto-magically.

There are some settings I'm having problems finding though.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All of the following items are disabled through a GUI:

# Fade or slide menus into view
# Fade or slide ToolTips into view
# Fade out menu items after clicking
# Show shadows under menus
# Slide open combo boxes
# Slide taskbar buttons
# Use a background image for each folder type
# Use common tasks in folders

As well as the folder settings for "display full path in the -" address bar and title bar.

Okay.  I found the VisualFXSettings and edited the registry file to include them.  On to the rest ... isn't sysinternal's regmon a beautiful thing?!

Yes, Regmon is your friend.  I've been using it for like 9 years now (along with Filemon).  Great products and there are free.

Did you go to Administrative Tools and disable most of the services that are not used for your application?

I have been following this thread with great interest. I have a couple of questions though.

1. Do these 2 reg keys you have in this thread include the previous reg keys from the original thread or do you have to run those separately?

2. Will it work with XP/SP2?

Well, the intent is that they'd be the same; just compiled into a few files to keep things more simple.

I haven't tried them with SP2, but they should be fine.

This is more generic than the one used for the arcade so it's missing the pieces that replace the cursor, set the shell to mamewah, etc.  Still, it's a nice set of tweaks.
