Title: Couple o' ROM questions. . .

Pole Position keeps hanging when the "PREPARE TO QUALIFY" sound plays.  Actually, the whole computer hangs and needs to be reset.  I googled and searched here to no avail before finally just getting in and messing with the ROM (that particular sound isn't a sample).  I now have the game running but without the "QUALIFY" soundbite.  Any ideas as to why?  Running an older version of MAME32 on a PII 450.

Also, any known good dumps of Armor Attack?  I have one version that, after fiddling around with it, has sound but won't display the overlay (kinda important for that game).  The other version shows the overlay but has no sound.   :cry:

Anyone with similar problems with certain ROMs, this might be a good thread to add them to. . .

My Pole position works fine, just tested it.

My Armour Attack has no sound.

I can email the Pole Position if you want it?
