I was thinking of ordering these from Bob Roberts:

But, they are unshielded. Will this cause me grief with my monitor? Any opinions on the best speaker/grille combo out there? I'm not looking to go expensive.

You will want shielded speakers, happ sells some for under $10.00 i like the creative 2.1 hack but its really how much money you want to spend.

I went with some plat panel Monsoon speakers, but they are pretty hard to find now. I would search for flat panel speakers with an external volume control personally.
Something like >these< (http://bizrate.lycos.com/computerspeakers/maxell-flat-panel-190022-speaker-system--pid414887896/compareprices__keyword--flat+panel.html)

i agree big time, the external speaker setting is nice, with the creative 2.1 hack i also have that & i just hid the volume control on my cab

I went to radio shack, picked up these speakers for $15.00:

Busted them all to hell...

Installed the drivers here (the speaker grills push on and pull off as they did on on the original speaker enclosures):

And installed the entire faceplate with on/off switch, volume and as a bonus, a headphones socket, to the top of my cabinet:

I am going to paint it black shortly.
It works nicely...the sound is easily better than stock (I have a single mono speaker JAMMA cabinet)...and the headphones socket is a bonus!

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I'm going to do what I did for my first cab and go with Bob Roberts shielded speakers & grilles. I didn't use his grilles last time, because Wicos grilles were more appealing to me, but since I can't order from Wico anymore....

I used Bob's shielded speakers, with some cheap plastic grills I bought at a surplus store (like 75cents each) + hacked some PC speakers for the amp.
