I have a Bad Dudes / RoboCop type cabinet. It currently employs a metal CP. Evidently Ghostbusters also uses the same (it looks ALMOST identical...same rounded marquee, etc...) as Bad Dudes / RoboCop, but uses a 3 person larger control panel...
#1 Does anyone know if the Ghostbusters CP will swap with the RoboCop / Bad Dudes CP...or will I have to cut my case up?
#2 If I have to cut my case up, what do you think of the idea of mounting a wood CP to the current metal CP somehow (it may then be too thick, and the current CP is JACKED as far as holes are concerned). I am not sure what I am going to do. I just need more room to add a trackball & spinner.
I have a Ghostbusters CP coming but I have a suspicion it's going to require some cutting on the cabinet...which I may just have to do.

As far as adding a wood CP were you planning on trying to keep the cabinet original or a full Mame setup? I you built a box and frame to hold the new CP it would be worth the time to do a cardboard mockup first to see how you want it. Sometimes things look better on paper than in the real world. Planning will keep last minute changes to a minimum.
Just my two cents.
Cheers

After careful consideration it comes down to:
(A) Cut my cabinet up a little (Id need to cut out each side where the control panel would fit).
or
(B) Cut my control panel up to fit within the current arcade width.
I have yet to decide on the plan of action. I just got my first router and I think I am going to go play with it a little to get a feel of what it's like.
