Title: male v. female
Post by: shmokes on March 25, 2003, 12:17:27 am
Of course the ratio of males to females in this hobby is going to be enormously lopsided, but I'd like to get an idea of just how lopsided.

... On a related note, my wife really likes Frogger now, and wants to invite friends over for an arcade party when I get the cab finished =)
(better count my blessings before revealing what was paid for the monitor... although it was a great deal ;)

Do we need to start having "ladies night"?  Can chicks get in for free every friday before 11 or something?

I'm disappointed, I thought this was a new game added in Mame 66.  You know like Marvel Vs. Capcom  :o

Chicks dig old arcade games like Ms Pacman and Frogger. and especially Atari2600 games.  When I have parties all the women take over my arcade cab or jukebox.  I kinda hate it because I have to hear crappy music all the time because of it.  Doh.  I should shutdown that jukebox.

Maybe your collection is just too small. ;)

And that's just one part of it, another 1/3 of my carts are in another box. Plus, more consoles of course (6 4 switch woodgrain, 1 'vader', 1 6 switch).

Now all I have to do is find a woman with an Atari fetish...

That was just one part of mine too, I have some more loose carts and a bunch more boxed ones.  I also have 2 or 3 7800 systems, another woodgrain system, a jr system, etc..  And I also have the remote controllers and some other stuff.  If you like Atari, you should check out www.atariage.com !!!

Okay so who the heck are the four women in this forum?
Title: Re:male v. female
Post by: paigeoliver on April 16, 2003, 02:01:39 am
I doubt that there are ANY women in this forum. Much less four. My bet is that all 4 of them were guys who just clicked female to screw with the results.

Go to an arcade auction sometime, and see if you can find any women bidding on any games (actual games, not slot machines). If you find one, go talk to her. I'll give you 20 to 1 odds that whatever she is buying is for a guy. If not, then it will be for her children, or for her business.

I can't ever recall encountering an actual girl in any arcade forum, in the arcade newsgroup, or at any arcade events (unless brought along by a man).
