Hey guys,
I am thinking about purchasing a vinyl CPO from mame marquees, with their "bullet proof" laminate on it.
Would it be possible to bend this vinyl over a control panel that was not flat. The front of the control panel comes towards the player at aabout a 10-20 degree angle, and then at the top, where the admin buttons are, it is flat, creating multiple planes on the CP. The angle is not that big where the two planes meet, so will this create any problems. Will there be any discoloration at the bend, since the surface of the vinyl will be stretched. Is this stuff very flexible at all with the scratch resistant laminate on it? Will the stuff crease at a fine line, or will it kind of be rounded around the bend, leaving some air pockets underneath?
Thanks for the input.

You can bend it according to Scott @ MM. I just asked him if it would bend over my Galaga/Midway style metal CP and he said it would work just fine. I don't think it's a terribly thick coating.

I did it - worked great.

So no plexi is needed over this stuff?

Nope. It's pretty tough. It will rip if jabbed with something sharp, but otherwise it's great. It feels like factory CPO material to me.

Thanks,
I think I just found my new CPO material ;D

Just follow the advice some have, to use a hair dryer to heat the overlay when applying it.

Hey Santoro,
Do you think you could post the dimensions and a picture of that control panel of yours? I've been looking for something similar for my cabinet. Thanks

The machine is at my sisters house so I can't measure it, but here is a link to the CP plans in Visio format if you can use it:

There is some more info on the CP here : http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=22050.0 - including a pic of the underside of the cp.
