Title: Movie Posters
Post by: eccs19 on October 16, 2006, 08:34:15 pm
Wife comes home from work today, and she brought home 8 movie posters for our game room. They are for current / slightly older movies, but not 80's. She's going to grab more for me as well.

Can't wait to get my house finished, and get my game room together.

Most of them are in good shape, couple are a bit beat up, but could be a lot worse. And the price was right!  :applaud:

Sharkboy and Lava Girl....Garfield, A Tale of Two Kitties.....Electra.....

Is she purposely picking out posters for some of the worst movies in the past few years, or does she not have a choice in what she gets?  Either way, theres no way those posters would go up on my wall unless someone was paying me to put them up  :P

I myself liked Electra, but that's just me. The other's I can't argue with you there.  lol

She does have limited choices. Most likly won't put up Sharkboy, its in the worst shape out of the bunch.  It would also be different if these were like Wally Mart posters, but these are actual posters from the movie theatre.

There was suposed to be a Starwars poster, but she couldn't find it.  She's gonna see what she can find today.

If I remember, I'll ask her.  These are all movies from the past 2-3 years, so if its newer, then I may get lucky.

Michael's has movie poster frames. They put them on sale for $10 about once a month.

Double-sided for light boxes, I would say.

I worked as a projectionist about 3 years ago for a year and got tons of posters and standups.  I've narrowed my collection down to about 20, I have the elektra one and the spongue bob that you have lol.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone commented on a few of them being backwards.   ;D

Basically with them being rolled, if they were rolled a certain way, then I could not lay them out to get a picture, they would just roll back up.  Anything that I've read indicates that actual real theatre ones are printed on both sides, so they display better in the light boxes. (as someone mentioned)  I actually think most of the ones I got (wife got 12 more today) are pre-release posters, (coming this November type thing) not the ones that they displayed when the movie was actually playing.

Thanks for the links on building the light boxes, they should come in handy!

I've got two posters from Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  I've got the regular poster and an advance 1-sheet  (some damage in the corner). Wanna trade?

I myself liked Electra, but that's just me.

So did I, but I'd hang up an Electra poster even if I hated the movie. ;)

For some reason I though she was much hotter in Daredevil.

I hear you there.  She's HOT, and that's why my wife got it for me. (unless she actually got it for herself, but just won't admit it.   :P

If it was a movie that I was into, I'd consider it, but.....  I know I've got some that I don't care about and I'd be willing to trade them, if it was something I would enjoy.

I'll have to make a list of all the one's I've got now.  Total of 20 of them.   :D

The Walace and Grommit one is probably pretty cool.  That's an awesome movie.

Unfortunately it's the second worse one of the lot.  I think with a frame with a bit of a border, the damage could be hidden.   :'(

I've ordered a number of posters from www.allposters.com and have always been happy with them.
