Title: My 1st Mame cabinet
Post by: chazbeenhad on October 15, 2006, 11:16:51 am
Hello. This is my 1st mame cabinet. It was a Burgertime DECO that was changed to a game called The Deep. It was woodgrain and beat up a bit.
Very ugly. :) I fixed up the cabinet by replacing some corners and lots of bondo.

I mounted a Priceton 19" monitor in it. I had to repair the monitor by reheating all the solder joints on the conversion board. Looks nice now.

The computer is an Asus board with an AMD 2800+. I'm running Mamewah and launching mame32. Also Daphne.

It is not done yet! I have T-molding on the way and a new marquee and some side art. I'll post another pic when its all done.

I also wanted to ask, has anyone seen a cabinet of this design before? I think it is wierd. The top, unlike a normal cabinet comes forward instead of  going back.

It looks like it's quite high...maybe in their wisdom they reckoned people would rather have the marquee lean down toward them ?
(mind you, if ever that sections screws got loose or eaten by bugs it'd fall on ya while playing lol)

Makes for a very different looking project tho. Good luck on the rest of it :)

Thanks. It weighs A LOT so I wouldn't want any of it falling on me. :)

It is big, 6ft and my tiny game room is only a little more than 6ft with the drop ceiling.

Here is a side view pic. Can't wait for my side art to arrive.
