Title: Anyway to ..... ???
Post by: GCS on October 12, 2006, 05:50:53 pm
Hook up multiple jamma boards in the same cabinet??

I have a Crusin' World and want to get the boards for Cruisin' USA & Off Road Challenge to put in there and at a touch of a button cycle through all 3 options to pick one to play.

I know this can be done with a multijamma kit and switchboards from Clay -- see www.multijamma.com

HOWEVER after a lot of research it has come to my attention that Clay is beyond backed up and there may never be any boards available again.  Some guys who already ordered have been waiting 6+ months.

I have searched high and low for any other way to do this but I cannot seem to find one.

Anyone else make anything like this or know of another way to do this??

I do realize that I could just replace the boards when I want to play a different game but I would like to avoid that if possible since its a real pain in the butt for me to move my Cruisin World.

Any advice you guys have would be appreciated.

Thanks

Greg

I plan on making one like this (http://www.russprince.com/cabinet/controlcircuit.html).

There are other options for switching between two games, but my preference is Clay's kit (I have one and love it). They come up from time to time on eBay and RGVAC (and even here), but you do nee to be patient and jump on them when they come up.

Clay's kits provide for switching a few additional controls, but I've never heard of anybody using one with a wheel. I would look into that before deciding on any JAMMA switcher.

Cheers

Thanks for the info.

I do know someone that used Clay's kit to wire up a Crusin' Exotica cabinet with Exotica/World/USA/Off Road Challenge.  He had to add in an additional switch to move the sound.  He also has no Force Feedback for games other than Exotica but that is because Exotica is not a straight forward swap out.

AFAIK the other 3 are simple swap outs so in theory I think this work ... maybe.

Anyway there is not much hope of getting one of Clay's kits as I see it unless I just get plain lucky.  I am keeping a watchful eye on the various places to see if one pops up.  Still looking for other suggestions though if anyone has any.

Thanks

Greg
