Title: Too good to be true? (Act Labs Gun Ebay Auction)

I noticed that there's only 7 feedback and he claims to have 48 for sale. I'd love for it to be true, but the BS meter is going off a bit...

Find out if he would be willing to use ebays escrow service since his feedback is so low. If he is willing then he probably is not full of it.

or ask to see a pic of the 48 of them....  ;D

That's so funny, I just sent him a message saying I wanted a pic of all of them, to see if he was on the up and up.

He has sold two of them, on the 3rd and 4th of this month.  Yet neither have left feedback for him yet.  ??

Hello!

We can understand being skeptical. The price is almost too good to be true. You won't find a better deal on this light gun anywhere.

Our company is still pretty new to eBay but I'll see if there is any way we can add a pic to the listing. Another way is if you send your email address in an AOL IM to RacersTalon one of our CSRs can get you hooked up with whatever you need.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

So once I get the pics I'll go from there.

eBay user mikesimmonds left positive feedback for it on the 6th.

I see feedback left FOR mikesimmonds, but nothing left BY him.

And that doesn't really mean much.  I've been very slow to leave feedback at times as well.  I am just watching this closely since it is a good deal that I may jump in on also.

FWIW, the actual company website had other VG related products on it.  But not so much that they would need "CSR's" ??

Hmmm...he hasn't sold anything since December of last year...not a good sign.

You could always email the people that have left him past feedback, although I would also take a good look at their feedback scores as well. Be careful!

Ask him to do escrow......

Use paypal.  Worst that could happen is you have to dispute it on your cc statement.

Also, the fact that he took the time to leave feedback for others is a +.

That's what I was thinking. If I get pics from him I'll buy. If not, then I'll pass.

So I got the an email from the seller tonight:

Ask and ye shall receive!

Another customer linked the post with all the furor about the light guns and weather or not this was a hoax ;0) I hope that this helps clear it up a little! If you have any other questions, please let me know!

Got them today. If you're looking to pick up some light guns, this is a real deal. Couldn't be happier.

Here's a follow-up to my order. A couple of days after I placed the order I received an email from the seller:

I was checking through our records today and it appears as though there may have been a clerical error in your order. I noticed that the shipping weight was far lower than it should've been for four light guns. Your package should arrive in the next day or so, please give me a call once you open it and let me know if there was anything amiss. If there was, I am extremely sorry and you can trust that we will do everything to make sure it gets handled swiftly.

A day later the package arrived and it only contained two of the four light guns I had ordered. So basically, this seller realized he may have made a mistake and proactively contacted me! His email even included his personal cell number. I gave him a call and left a message. An hour later he returned may call (and also sent an email) to confirm that he would send out the remaining items on that day (Saturday) or Monday at the latest. This seller is definitely on the up-and-up!

I would probably get in on this if they would have worked with an arcade monitor.

I guess I will have to pony up for the new lightguns everyone is talking about.

Just another A+ for Cliff Racer, I ordered 2 of these and received them within a week.  Gonna resell the second NIB over at B/S/T for my cost, I don't need it, anyone interested PM me.

ARCADIAC!

Sweet! Thanks for the link & feedback on your dealings with this seller guys. I thought that these would be impossible to find again! I ordered up two of them last night based on the good reports listed here. Time to go have a drink!

I got the two I ordered in just fine. They were well packed and everything in good shape. I am picking up my cab tomorrow so it is almost time to start building. The computer system is just about ready to go. Thanks again!

The guy has sold 34 of the 50. I wonder how many were purchased by members of this group? My guess - all of them!

There aren't a whole lot of MAME compatible guns at all.  The Act-Labs guns are simple to set up and pretty accurate.  The biggest complaints originally was that they looked like "ray-gun" toys and didn't have removable cables; Act-Labs has addressed both of those issues with this model.

The other popular gun requires you to stand a minimum of 6 feet from the screen; I don't have that kind of space where my machine is.
