have you tried leaving playlist.txt in the glaunch directory (and reverting the folder specification for mp3_playlist_file = to accomodate...)? *shrug*
i'll go peek at my setup and see what's doing...
Also does sound work at ALL for you in glauncher.. i.e. do you get the little clicks when scrolling and the squaunk! sound effect when luanching a game? you can have your playlist configged to the moon but if gl is having issues with your soundcard (which is? and which OS?) it'll be a moot point...
I had an issue once where MAME detected my soundcard fine, but glaunch wasn't.... (as they use different sound card detecting libraries...)
just some ideas...

EDIT: ok... my playlist.txt is in my glaunch directory and my config file looks ike this...
mp3_playlist_file = playlist.txt
And without fail twisted sister, Devo, and other 80's "hits" play in the background =P
good luck!

uummm....you say your 'mp3' file is named 'music.mpe' ? Is that a typo?

I noticed that too.. but disregarded it... (but could be symptomatic of the possible issue =P )

I have had another day to play with this, and I got it working (kinda).
Yes, GL was making sounds in the menu, so I knew that the sound was working and that GL could work with my card just fine.
It seems like I got a problem with my MP3's. What I did is set up 12 MP3's in c:\glaunch\ I named them music01.mp3...thru...music12.mp3. I then added 12 seperate lines to my playlist.txt (also located in C:\glaunch\). I launched GL, and it started playing an MP3!! The only problem is......it started with music03.mp3.
I started "remarking out" lines in playlist.txt (by inserting # in front of the line), and found that GL would only play certain MP3 files. Started investigating for the obvious (VBR, very low bitrate, very high bitrate, etc..) It seems that GL likes my 192 and 320 bitrate MP3's, but did not like my 128 and 160 bitrate files. This held true, until it got to music12.mp3. Music12 was a 160 bitrate, and it played fine (whereas all the other 160's did not play at all). NOTE: All of these MP3 files play fine in Musicmatch, Windows Media Player, and Cyberpunk's Virtual Jukebox (which I think uses WIndows Media Player).
It seems as if there IS a rhyme/reason to this, but I just dont know what it is yet ;D
Any more thoughts, guys?? ???
Thanks for the help so far,
Fat Johnny
