Title: UA II Cabinet laminate???
Post by: Marky_1979 on October 08, 2006, 10:18:41 pm: im after some nice laminate to cover my UAII arcade cabinet with ideally in black anyone can point me in the direction of where i can get some will need to be shipped to the UK.

The only thing I found at Lowes and Home Depot in terms of laminate was countertop laminate for $50 per 4x8 sheet. They don't even sell laminated MDF.

That's one of the main reasons I ended up buying the UAII kit -- it already comes with a nice black laminate material on the pre-cut boards.

I have been to many our local home depot uk eqivelent b&q and the like but no joy with a laminate cover sheet. so a bit stuck as to where i can buy some

Post by: ahofle on October 09, 2006, 01:59:15 pm: FWIW, I opted to skip the expensive laminate on my UAII cabinet and just used several coats of primer and satin black paint. While it's definitely not as durable as laminate, I haven't had any problems with it scratching or chipping.

I guess Wilsonart is one of the better brands of laminate. It looks like they ship internationally (for a premium).

I can second this opinion. I've used cabinetparts.com for Wilsonart laminate and they are terrific.

Ok this is weird the message board wont let me post a GBP sign, it cuts the message off after it.
8'x 4' sheet is 28 quid, they do deliver but I'm not sure if they charge you for it or not
