Title: looking for golden tee cp art
Post by: crsdawg on March 23, 2003, 01:22:08 am
hiya, been lurking for awhile in the boards here.  thanks for all the help you guys have unknowingly given me.  it's been a big help in my plans.
here's my question.  does anyone have or know where i can find some decent scans of the golden tee instruction decals? i've been looking all over for these but to no avail.  i'm going to make a golden tee only cp, and i'd like to make it look, if not completely authentic, at least pretty close.  to be honest, i figured this would be easy to find since gt is so popular, but i haven't found anything remotely close to a useable image. the grass part i think will be pretty easy. if i'm not mistaken both psp and photo shop has stock grass images already, but the decal sheet would be hard to reproduce satisfactorly. any ideas?
thanks

They have one in the lobby here @ work.. I'll gank the instruction cards when I got to lunch @ 3:30AM and mail them to you ::)

Seriously, you'll probably have to find an ebay auction for a Golden Tee kit or CP/CP overlay for one of the various incarnations of it, unless someone else has seen scans around before..?

But.. actually maybe I can steal the ones here at work, I'll get back to you ???

www.gatercade.com has both the CP overlays for GT fore and for GT 3D

kspiff: any help you could give would be great, but don't get yourself in trouble in the process.  ;)

boba:thanks for the pic, but i need something a little more high res

pezkore:that site has an image that is almost but not quite good enough, hehhheh, go figga.(ofcourse they also sell them)

i really don't want to purchase a new set of decals(i'm such a cheap --I'm attempting to get by the auto-censor and should be beaten after I re-read the rules--), but i might have to. i suppose i could buy a set, scan it myself, and then ebay the originals.  i'd probably make a good part of the cash back, and there is a set on ebay now. hmmmm......

thanks again

That's a no go on the decals.. they're under plexi with hex security bolts, too, so I don't think I could even get a good scan (if I even had a handheld scanner).

I would just buy a set.. depending on how much they cost..

Well if you want to go all the way happs sells a golden tee fore control panel, assembled with decals, trackball, and all buttons. It's the newer CP design, not the older one with grass and stuff.

CP is 180 bucks. To break down the cost of building your own, figure the trackball is 90 new, although it's on sale right now, buttons will be about 9 bucks, printout of the art will cost you some money and not be as good, and you don't have to spend time building it if you just buy it outright. Also you don't have to worry about it being poorly built or making mistakes on it if you are not good at that sort of thing. It's also going to be friggin sturdy because it's designed to be thrown in an arcade with a bunch of drunks beating on it.

So I guess if you want to take the plunge and this is strictly a golden tee CP I'd say just buy the happs one and save yourself the headaches. It's the most authentic and probably highest quality that you are going to get unless you are good with tools.

Didn't smack for his mega heiney cabinet (or whatever)make a scan of the "instructions" / mousepad thingie that came with the PC version of Golden tee?

I know I've downloaded at least the trackball arrows thingie before and stashed it somewhere for later use...

*shrug* if I find a link i'll forward it... EDIT <<<<>>>>>Blammmmo! (http://webpages.charter.net/redpinata/redpinata/downloads/gtghookshots.jpg)  probably not quite what you wanted but I think I need to add it to mine somehow...

You beat me to posting the link. ;D

That was a pic I got off the net and cleaned up the text so it was readable. The manner in which you have to do the shots takes 3 trackball movements as opposed to 2 like the arcade version.

Golden Tee baby, Golden Tee... :)
