I am very new to mame and have just found out about MESS. I cant find much info here about it.  Is it any good etc.?

Is this just like MAME but for everything and therefore could a FE be configured so all emus could run from the one list?

I don't think many people use it for much other then atari, not really sure why.  Anyways, there is some good info on it here if you haven't seen it yet:

I use MESS for the following emulators:

Adventure Vision
Arcadia
Astrocade
Atari7800
Channel F
Colecovision
Supervision
Vectrex

I use MALA as my frontend for about 40 emulators.  For the emulators listed above I simply call the MESS.exe executable file with the appropriate command line input parameters to play the games I have.
