I recently took my control panel apart and re-assembled it, disconnecting and reconnecting all of my controls to my Keywiz encoder in the process. Now none of the controls are registering. The keyboard going through the Keywiz keyboard pass-through registers on my computer. I'm a complete newb at electrical stuff, but my understanding is that this is probably an issue with the ground daisy-chain? Is there an easy way to isolate the problem or am I pretty much stuck re-wiring? I checked all of my quick disconnects and the ground termination in the encoder and everything looks good. Everything was working fine before; the initial wiring was actually much easier than I thought it would be, tediousness aside. I just don't want to spend that much time again if there's a way to narrow down what the problem is.

I just tried disconnecting the ground daisy chain from the encoder, and picked a button to wire with a new ground cable that goes directly from that button to the encoder ground. This button did not register. I tried it with a second button and that did not register either. Is my encoder trashed? Does it matter that I left the rest of my controls non-ground wires attached to the encoder during this test?

The first thing to check is to make sure you plugged the PS/2 cables back into the right places. The PS/2 cable that came with the KeyWiz goes to the purple port and the keyboard goes to the green one. You wouldn't believe how often this gets switched after tearing a panel apart and putting it back together.
If that wasn't the issue, drop me an email.
