in the u.k i guess, first we need the model number and make of the monitor
when a colour goes its down one of a few things;colour drive transistor, dry solder joints, missing colour signal from the game board, faulty decoder i/c on the monitor or at worst a faulty gun in the tube-if you don't know your monitor details take a pic and post it here(i bet its a hantarex)

don't worry about the ground, check for bad solder joints on the neck card also meter all the colour input voltages

HI i wouldnt no where to start....
i do have another problem with this monitor when switched on it starts to make a fizzing noise... at first then go's away.... but taking a look when ive switched it on today the rubber sucker thingy that plugs into the tube is slightly arcing in the center as if its cracked...
could i replace the sucker thing....???
another question for u experts i have 2 of these monitors both same make and model but they look completly different??
thanx and sorry for all the stupid q's
cheers smythe

that sucker thing is the anode cap on the ht wire(depending on the size tube there could be up to 30000volts on that).they can be changed because inside its just a wire soldered to a spring clip
all this really is not a job for someone without experience, where in the u.k are you?
i don't know why your chassis look different perhaps a photo of each will shed some light

hi thanx
where could i pick up an anode cap in uk?
also could this be causing the colour problem?
im nr sheffield

you should be able to get an anode cap at any tv repair shop
the colour problems are down to the colour background and gain pots on the neck card, these need adjusting
-
hello again
an update here
the red keeps coming on and more off than on & if you slap the side of the cab if flicks on & off ...
ive ajusted the pots on the neckcard to no avail?
any ideas ?

Cracked solder joints. Check the video connector for starters and the red drive transistor on the neckboard.
