Title: Trackball and button (where to place the button?)
Post by: maximebeauvais on September 25, 2006, 09:37:41 pm
Ok,

I'm designing my CP and I will like to know where will be the best place to put the mouse button? I was going to put then above the trackball but someother people was saying that they like to have them below so it could be reach easly with the thumb. however, when playing with the tracking and when you are in the fire of the action will you hit the button???

Anyway, let me know your preference.

Also after a search I saw that some people don't put mouse button but the connect the mouse button within the player 1 and player 2....how they do that? I need more explanation or exemple.

thanks a lot

On my panel (http://www.dalessio.ws/arcade/CapAmericaMameCp.jpg (http://www.dalessio.ws/arcade/CapAmericaMameCp.jpg)), I put the mouse buttons (the light blue buttons) where I won't accidentally hit them while using the trackball. The only problem I found is that they are too high for playing PC-based games that require the mouse buttons  (for MAME, I use the buttons next to the joystick for fire, etc.).

The best is to make a temp panel to try your planned layout, and adjust as you find necessary.
My panel is a temp panel (which has been in use for about a year now  :-[ ).
