I got a great deal on an Acer 22" LCD from Microcenter ($300 vs. the $350 for a 22" Viewsonic from Costco) and now I'm itching to make it rotate with some sort of homemade mount. I really don't need it to be motorized. Turning it by hand would be fine for me. The display seems to have VESA mounting holes, but I don't want to have to buy an expensive arm or something to take advantage. I think I should be able to buy or make a bracket, attach to some type of axle (PVC pipe comes to mind), some type of spinning mechanism (rollers? ball bearings?), and stops at the appropriate orientations. This thread: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=52198.0 mentions using a lazy susan. Of course, no pictures or details. Has anybody done anything like this with any pictures of how they did it? I'd be eternally grateful.

I've seen some basic monitor stands - such as thoses shipped with monitors - that allow a monitor to be rotated by 90. Might be easier than the whole lazy suzan approach...?

Bar stools have swivelly bearing things on them that you may be able to adapt. Just be aware that the centre of the vesa mount may not be the centre of the screen, and it may also not be parallel with its surface either.
