Title: mame rom set .106 with chd set from .108?
Post by: ultravorx on September 23, 2006, 10:45:27 pm
hey guys, i was wondering if i could use a .108 chd rom set with my .106 rom set with mame 32 .106.
also if i were to install the .108 rom set with chd and run mame 32 .106, would that work as well?

the reason is i dont want to lose the high score capability.

i think it should work, but before i go through the hassle of loading 12 dvds i want to make sure it would work.

thanks

frank

Im sure it will work, just MAME will only recognize the roms in the set up to its ver106 state.

In addition to not seeing the new games, any games with ROM changes (new dump of existing ROM) from 106 to 108 would be broken.  That's probably a very small number though and you could just deal with that handful of games separately.

Or you could go over to the Software forum here and download the .diff that returns highscore.dat to 1.08
