You can tape off using masking but I dont expectyou will have any problem with the few holes you need to mount.

Its plastic not plexi or lexan....

...best of luck.

ah then it is just me being worried.  what about using a small bit then a larger bit?  just worried it will crack.  if anything ill drill the center hole for the top to see how well it goes.  thanks.

Put a piece of wood behind it to help steady it and drill away. Plastic drills very well-better than wood, IMHO.

I would not worry.  When I got my Happ retainers I used a tablesaw to cut it to the right length.

Heck I even used the table saw to trim off the extra from the bezel I got from Happ.  :dizzy:

So I don't think a drill will crack it.

Yes, their plastic is very easily drilled.  Drill from the good side through to the hidden side.  The only thing you might need to do is pull away some of the 'twisty' remnants from the back.

i drilled the holes for my retainers and used bolts to hold them in since the holes were all the way through.  the top retainer isnt what im worried about now though its the bottom one.  its at an odd angle so when i drilled the holes there was only maybe an 8th of an inch of plastic on the edge of the retainer left.  does that make sense?  not the way it is but my wording.

it seems the plastic is sturdy so i think it will be fine.  only thing left to do is paint the bolts black since it was either sliver or im going to say brass.  and i used black posterboard to stop light from bleeding around the marquee.  yey me.
