Title: Does this mean my monitor IS working?
Post by: Panzer on September 19, 2006, 03:34:03 pm
I have a MK2 Cab that was converted to a NFL BLitz 99 game. When I power it up there is a bit of a flash on the screen and the speakers make a small hum but no game related sounds. Per some advice from members of this forum I turned up the volts to my flyback and the screen turned all white.

So does that mean at the very least I can still MAME the cab?

And is it safe to assume there is something wrong with the powers upply or hard drive for the Blitz game?

Thanks all!

sounds like the power supply is shot-if you metered your +5volts and find nothing then that proves it BUT its sounds like your monitor is o.k-did'nt i give you the flyback info?

Turn it to the DC voltage setting.  LIkely it's referenced by an icon.  AC looks like a sine wave, DC looks like a straight line.

You take the black lead and put in on the ground output wire, and the red lead and put it on the +5V wire (which is usually red).

Of course I'm not sure what kind of power supply you have, so these hints may have to be modified slightly.
