Title: Mala All Game List
Post by: BamBam on September 18, 2006, 09:04:14 am
I have edited my games list within Mala to not show games that I don't want in the "All Games" menu.  I inadvertently removed a game name from this list and want to get it back.  I know I can refresh the game list, but that means that all of the other games I didn't want displayed are back again.  How do I bring just one game back into the game list?

- Copy and rename your current main game list 'All Games.mgl' to 'whatever.mgl'
- Create a new main game list with MaLa
- Open MalaGamelist and open 'whatever.mgl'
- Add the game you want from the new main game list to 'whatever.mgl'
- Save 'whatever.mgl'
- Delete the new main game list
- Rename whatever.mgl' to 'All Games.mgl'

I keep my AllGames list current, but use the "Hide AllGames" option so it's not visible. I have a "Master List" that contains my edited All Games files.

Thanks guys.  I have it up and running fine now.
Now, is there a program that can look at the edited gameslist and delete the roms that I don't want from my c:\Mame/roms folder?
Thanks.

That short of hard-drive space ehh?

You may change your mind later and regret it

Just delete that 'really large' roms you know you don't need would be what I would do

You can copy all needed roms to one folder with MalaGamelist.

- Enter your folder with all roms in the dialog File -> Directory -> Mame Roms
- Load your game list
- Choose form the menu Gamelist -> Copy roms to folder

And MalaGamelist will copy all roms needed by the loaded game list to the choosen folder.
