Hey guys, I'm finding my game collection is getting a little stale. I would like to hear your suggestions for really good games that are a little more obscure. What have you been playing lately? I'll start off by suggesting DoDonPachi, a great shooting game.
Thanks,
-Ace-

Speaking of "Don" games, Don Doko Don is pretty cool. And there's a game, can't remember what it's called, is like Pacman on stilts. It's side view and you have to move your guy up and down as is scrolls along to eat the pellets. If you get a bonus pellet, you lose your legs and float around and eat the bad guys. Can't remember for the life of me what it's called, though. I also like Disco No. 1.

If you're into classics instead of fighers, I'd suggest "Jumping Jack".. It's really a cool game by Universal (so it has the EXTRA stuff of LadyBug/Mr.Do in it). Vertical orientation, 4 way joystick + 1 fire button.

Wow, I just tried Don Pachi tonight - that's awesome! Good find!

Glad you like it Odonadon. Don Pachi is the first one and the sequel is called DoDonPachi. They're both awesome. ESP Ra.de. is really awesome too, someone on this board turned me onto it. It's similar to the DPachi games.
to digress a bit:
Why is Arkanoid so freakin' hard? I just pumped the equivalent of about $12 through it and I can't even get past level five. I don't remember it being so tough in the arcade :-( Maybe it's because I'm using the mouse instead of a real spinner but sheesh, I almost put my fist through the monitor!!! I really need to practice I guess.

-
How could you all forget the metal slug series?
Oh and all the puzzle bobble games are good.

Super Puzzle Fighter!

Major Havoc is always a good darkhorse. Lunar Lander, Star Castle, Crystal Castles, and Phoenix are my "Closet Favorites". I don't play them much, but when I do, I tend to obsess for a few hours.
