I have no problem getting mamewah to see the roms in each directory, but on about 2/3 of the roms it lists the roms with either an IP or a PT in front of the rom name. With this extra in there the emulator cannot run the game. Any ideas on what is causing this?

help!!!!!
-
What emulator are you using?
-
So far the ones giving me problems are Visual PInball and ZSNES. The emulators themselves work fine, it is just that some of the roms are getting a prefix for some reason.
-
you have to put them in a dos-compatible format, i.e. i think 6 or 7 letters or less, no spaces, etc.
-
i don't think that's his problem at all but in case it is, it's called 8.3 format (8 characters, 3 char extension)
so my document.doc= my_doc~1.doc
or something like that
-
Odd, sounds like a bug...could you mail me (minwah1959@hotmail.com) your ZSNES .LST file which will be in the MAMEWAH program directory?

Spooky, I've just encountered the same problem, only my roms have the prefix CE in front of them. Everything was fine, all listed and working ok until i decided to delete some roms (about 60) and refresh the gamelist. This was in my cab so i repeated the same thing on my main computer and this didn't happen, luckily i could just copy the games&snap lists across to my cab.
btw This was using the Magic Engine emulator.

Cave, do your 2 PC's run different versions of Windoze?
-
They are absolutley identicle even the cpu & mobo, both winXP, the same file structure , copied everything over to my cab the only difference is the drive letter, in my cab its C:
and on my main computer its F: :-\

How odd :-\
It seems that using short filenames will fix the problem, or you can manually edit the LST file and remove the bits that shouldn't be there. But you shouldn't have to...
It will be fixed next release if all goes well :)
