Title: Router bit questions.
Post by: sealslayer on September 14, 2006, 03:14:26 pm
I need to get a bit to cut the groove out for the T-molding, the only ones that I've seen that look like they will do the job is biscuit cutting bits, are these the right ones or is 4mm to wide a gap?
My T molding is still in transit so I cant really tell until it arrives but I may have to order the bit in so I really need to know before hand.

No those are not the correct bits.

You want slot cutters, such as the three here:

They are also easy to find at Home Depot, just do an online search for slot cutters.

Here's what you need:

You want the 1/16" cutter (first one on the page) and the 1/2" or 1/4" arbor to match. If your router accepts 1/2" bits go for the larger arbor size. It will give you a much smoother cut.
