He did good against Federer in the US Open.  Only problem is, "good" for anyone else is just "average" to Federer.  That guy is just a beast.  (He's only 26 I think, and people think he'll be the best ever when his career is finally over.  He's at 9 Grand Slam titles already.  Sampras had 14, the most for men.)  His only weakness is Nadal on clay and ONLY clay.  I do hope he gets that French Open though.  It's the only one he's missing.  I'd love to see him win all 4 next year.

I liked this commercial a bunch as well, being a big tennis fan.

Federer is definately on a different plateau than the rest of the tour right now... I'm hoping Blake and Roddick will step up and be able to challenge ol' Roger a little bit better.

I guess I just like to route for the home team/country :)

Nadal was looking like he was going to be able to challenge him on another surface other than clay, but self destructed in the US Open, we'll have to see how he takes the early loss.

Roddick definatly has picked up his game since Jimmy Conners has started to coach him, though, we'll hope he can keep a good game going and win some more slams.

Nadal is a challenge for Federer on every surface.  He beat Federer on hard courts in Dubai and Miami this year.  He went to the final at Wimbledon and put on a decent show there, too.  I'm pretty sure that Federer has lost to Nadal more than he's beat him, but I could be wrong about that.

I don't have much hope for Blake.  He turns 27 this year and he's just not to Federer's level.  Federer just turned 25 last month.  Blake has never won a five match set*.  Ever.  I just can't see him upping his game enough to compete with Federer and Nadal (who just turned 20) before age starts setting in.

Roddick, on the other hand, has been fantastic since Jimmy Connors started coaching him.  I've always really liked Roddick and I had started to think that he would never reach the top again.  If he keeps improving at the rate he has been I think he could easily steal a slam or two from Federer.

edit: er . . . five set match, that is.

I think Federer is way too inside Roddick's head. Roddick doesn't believe he can beat Federer, and I think he's probably right about that. Good to see Jimmy Connors active in the tennis world again and I agree that he's had a great influence on Roddick's game. Does anyone know why Roddick ditched Brad Gilbert? Roddick was on top of the world before he let Gilbert go. As soon as Gilbert was out of the picture Roddick's ranking started dropping. I never got that.

Nadal is going to be a force to be reckoned with in coming years if his performance this year and to a lesser extent, last year are anything to judge by. I think he's got a real shot a Wimbledon next year.

I think Blake's game will continue improving. I'm not sure he really has what it takes to be a serious challenger to Federer or Nadal, but he can take on just about anyone else with a real chance at winning.

And on topic, I love the Pong commercial too. That has to be my favorite commercial of the year. :)
