Hey guys,
I am looking for Smoked Lexan. I live in McKinney, TX. Any other folks in the Dallas area?
Also what thickness is good? 1/8" or maybe a 1/4" thickness? What would you guys suggest.
Not to this part yet, just getting some plans going.
Thanks,

I'm in Dallas and will be interested in any response as well. It seems like actual glass may be easier to find.

Having only seen smoked lexan in person, I'd recommend going with glass. I wasn't very impressed with the lexan, as it seemed to mute the brightness, whereas from the pictures I've seen of graylite glass the picture comes through very clearly with less affect on the intensity. The thickness might have effected it, the lexan was 3/16" or 1/4".. not sure.

Ebay has a few people selling smoked lexan and prices lower than anything I was able to find after calling a dozen glass shops.

I have just heard smoked lexan looks really nice. I don't want glass just beacuse I don't want to actually break it. I have a 2 yr old and don't want to have any trouble. I will keep him locked out of the arcade room, but really want a plastic glass.
Anyone know how to clean smoked lexan?

Greylite 14 is what you're looking for. It's a smoked plexi type material that gives that true arcade color and sharpness to games. There are some threads about it if you hit the search.

Greylite 14 is glass though, and he wanted plexi so his son couldn't break it.
(though I love my greylite :) )
Sorry I can't be of any help on the plexi bit, I'd be too afraid of scratching it, etc..
But at least you know greylite wouldnt help your plexi need... :dunno

FWIW, I got a quote from a bath and glass place yesterday for a 24 x 30 section of "bronze" plexi. $45 ballpark.

Yeah if I didn't have a little guy I would get the glass, but lexan is really what I am looking at. I have a glass place here in McKinney, Texas I am going to call. The name of the place is Sportsman Glass.

You definately DON'T want bronze plexi, you need grey.
