Which is better: Pac-Man or Mrs. Pac-Man?
I am thinking about writing an article for 2old2play.com's magazine. One of the topics they would like is "Which is better: Pac-Man or Mrs. Pac-Man?"
2old2play.com is a site for gamers over the age of 25. They have a free magazine in PDF format. Check it out, it's pretty cool.
I am gathering input for this topic and I would like your help. I figure this is a good place to get some good input for the subject. Please vote and reply with your thoughts.
Thanks

I like Ms Pac-Man better for one reason. The siren sound in the background in Pac-Man really starts to annoy me after more than a few minutes.

Mrs pacman's got more speed....

Pac man is fun for the simple fact that you can pull of some amazing stuff if you understand the patterns, and have a few methods. From a game standpoint, Ms. Pac Man is a better game though, because of the variations in levels and better AI that lead to a richer game experience.
Ms. Pac Man is the ultimate maze game... the only reason there's any debate about which is better it at all is because as a character, PacMan is even more of a cultural icon than his Missus. If Ms Pac-Man had simply been a sequel to Pac Man, there's no doubt that there would be much less interest in the the first than there is. Like Galaga versus Galaxian, Ms Pac Man is light years ahead of its predecessor.

ditto on the siren. Hands down, Ms. Pacman is a better game.

I like the PacMan death animation better, but the lady takes the cake as far as the game goes. Variation in boards and moving bonus fruit is what I like over the regular PacMan.
I concur on the siren sound, most annoying.

Ms. Pac man is great...it only costs a quarter to play with her... >:D

Looks like I'm in the minority of people who like Pac-Man over Ms. Pac-Man. Maybe it's because I'm more familiar with the maze designs and ghost AI. I have to agree that Ms. Pac-Man is probably a better game, but I still like the original better for whatever reason.

Ms. Pac-man is a better game, No doubt!
I still like Pac-man better though.
Also, I think the Pac-man intermissions are better than the Ms. Pac-man ones.
And i think Pac-man's Start up music is more catchy.
Ms. Pac-man better game play though.

Yeah, the Ms.
I like the bouncing fruit more than the stationary one.
Someone have fun with that last sentence. . .

I always preferred the original, but only because I'm a sexist pig.

I prefer Pac-man too. That picture of the Ms. on the marquee, all tarted up with rouge, legs up in the air, while Shadow (her sworn enemy) stares up at her with clenched fists and a look of unbridled lust? And during gameplay he's continually trying to 'eat' her, sandwich her between himself and another monster, etc. It's nothing but filth.
-
I'll be different: I like both equally. but I enjoy the gameplay variations and music of MsPac over Pac.
I do have one serious pet peeve about Pac...
I hate the animation where the ghost gets caught on a nail, tears his costume, and you see that weird human leg in there. I think that's just creepy and sort of spoils the whole game concept for me. I have been trying to ignore that animation since I first saw it 25 years ago.

Don't forget the sex scene between boards, and next thing you know she's already popping out a kid.

Ms Pacman was HOT!

I like the PacMan death animation better...
Ah, I agree on this point as well. That's one of the all time great video game clich

Ms. Pac-Man is better because she has a bow. Now are Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man married or are they just fooling around. Ms. tells neither if she is married (Mrs.) or not (Miss), so it could be either. My young fragile mind would like to believe they got married in an unshown cut scene and the kid came 9 months later. ;)
-
She's a hussy. Pac-Man isn't even sure the kid is his.

Sorry, but my vote goes for Galaga. ;)

Galaga? C'mon man, its Tempest...
I mean Robotron.
um, no, its Tempest...
or Robotron?
Ah hell, Ms. Pac man it is. ;D

Pacman Plus, or Jr Pacman.
Jr's my favorite of the "pure" pac games.

I prefer the classic look of the original Pac-Man to Ms. Pac-Man. I like the almost vector look of the blue outlined barriers in the maze and the solid yellow Pac-Man (as opposed to the gaudy looking Ms. Pac-Man sprite). The sounds are more classic too, to the point of almost being archetypal arcade sounds, as heard in many movies, TV shows and even songs. Also, I think of 80's arcades when I think of Pac-Man. I think of Pizza Hut when I think of Ms. Pac-Man.
Since I don't think any of the Pac games are much fun in the first place, the additional features of changing mazes/colors and roaming fruit are not enough to sway my opinion toward Ms. Pac-Man.
Additionally, Pac-Man is a bit on the fluffy side to begin with, especially when compared to the likes of Defender or Missile Command. The Ms. Pac-Man changes certainly didn't help it out in that department.
