Ok so i have a wg7000 monitor in a mk2 cab which was converted to play mace, now when i play mace at the top right hand Corner I see some v-synch lines which are out of place with fair amount of adjusting its barley noticeable, however when I plug my pc (arcadevga) in I get a faint v-synch line across

19" or 25" tube?
-
25" bud, i guess i would say its more like a bar across and not a line, thx

Check out this site:

Have you adjusted the 50/60 pot? It interacts with the vertical size and vertical hold too.
Has this monitor had a capkit recently?

hey ken i just picked up this monitor at a auction, so im not able to tell you if a cap kit was done, how can i tell?? when you say the 50/60 pot, im assuming theres another knob on the board, i had a look and dont recall seeing another pot knob, when i get home i'll have another look, one more thing ken on http://www.jstookey.com/arcade/WG_25k7191/wg-k7000.pdf

Usually, if the cab has a fair amount of dust in it, the new capacitor will be much brighter when compared to rest of the chassis. As in, will look newer.
Also, download a "cap kit" map for that particular chassis and check to see if the replacement capacitors match the capacitance and voltage values of the "cap kit". Also, all the replaced capacitors should be uniform. (They should look like they came from the same factory with the same looking casing. Usually Xicon bright blue.
I think thats what you mean anyways.

its not something as silly as the screen volts a touch too high, that will give you a faint flyback line even tough your picture will be good
-
would there be a way i can adjust the screen voltage? im taking alook at these diaghrams
-
on the f l y b a c k transformer there are two adjustments-focus and screen volts, just turn your screen volts antclockwise a touch.you may have to turn up your contrast/brightness or colour gain pots to compensate for the loss in picture quality

intresting turn of events, games like mslug, garou, play with that bar, however when i load up mk1 2 or 3 that bar doesn't show up. possible ini issue with those games??
-
A lot of games share the RAM with other parts of the system, and the results show up on screen.
The older Williams games are a good example of this. On the very top of the screen there is a single row of pixels that changes a lot.
The Mame guys wrote around this so it wouldn't show up on screen to stem the flow of 'is this a bug' reports. But it's viewable on an actual machine.

guys thanks for all your suggestions, i did a re-install of mame and windows, adjusted the 50/60 pot in the rear and everything is ok, once again thanks
