Title: Is "Office Space" really TWO movies?
Post by: Texasmame on September 06, 2006, 05:01:21 pm
Really.  It's a GREAT film up until they smash the copier.

After that, it's all downhill.  I usually turn it off after that part now.

On a similar topic. Has anyone here seen Mike Judges new movie, "Idiocracy"? It's his second live action movie(Office Space was his first)

It's only in limited release right now. Apparently the studio hates it so they aren't giving it any push at all.(which is exactly what they did with Office Space.)

The synopsis is: An average guy volunteers to be the subject of a hibernation experiment that goes awry. He wakes up 1000 years in the future, discovering that he

I saw a preview for that flick recently and I really want to see it.  It's not playing anywhere real close to me right now though.

Im sure it will be on video in no time and they'll sell a ton of them through word of mouth. Exactly what happened with Office Space.

This is usually a clear sign that a person has been hit on the head repeatedly with a heavy object.

Put your helmet on and watch it again, Sparky. ;)

At risk of public humilitation, I have pretty much agree...I think the office scenes were the best, but I also liked the party and the end with the fire....It definintly could have used more office humor. It almost was like they got a new writer or director for the second part....anyway...I prefer the first part. For the second, I think I'll just watch Superman 3. It has Richard Pryor anyway.

How many minutes into the film does this happen?

Right after the opening credits, I guess, since I thought the movie was dumb.

You have to work in a highly inefficient government office environment to fully appreciate this movie. I can top all of you I bet. Me and a co-worker actually watched office space at the office. ;D It was December 23rd, and me and the other guy were the two co-ops on the floor. We only worked during the break in between school semesters, so we didn't have vacation time. Pretty much everyone else in the whole building was gone, so we brought in a few movies to pass the day.

I have spent most of my career in large, inefficient office environments just like that one.  That's why I thought it was stupid.  I wanted to reach into the screen and hit the dudes with a slab of pork.  Who wants to be pissed off at their idiot coworkers all day and then come home and watch a movie about idiot workers?

Because it helps those who are overwhelmed with the idiocy of office environments to cope with it? Apparently you missed the point if you still get pissed at work.

I didn't miss the point... after a while it ceases to be amusing and doesn't entertain me.

It's no different from working a McD's and then refusing to eat McD's for dinner.

In order to misplace something you have to have it it in the firse place.  Office Space rocks although the beginning is better.

My idiot boss actually says, "yeah, that'd be greaaat!"...and one time I asked, "heh..you ever see the movie Office Space?"

He said, "No."   :o

I quote from this movie at least once a day. I even have a REG SWINGLINE.

I can never watch an episode of "Lost" without laughing at the guy who played Samir.

I would give it a 9 out of 10. It would be a 10 if Jennifer Aniston would have had a nude scene in it.

I thought the movie was great, also the printer scene was THE best part, even the use of the Ghetto Boys tune was scripted perfectly.

What I've been looking high and low for is Judge's animated shorts called 'Milton.' They are, as you've probably guessed, where the inspiration for the movie came from.

Has anyone got have these or know where to obtain a copy?
I'll trade you a months worth of 'TSR reports' for em.

OK so thanks to people like you in this thread (except Chad) I rented Office Space. I want my money back!!!!

(To add insult to injury, you would think the Milton cartoons would be included in the Special Features of the DVD. ... Nope!)

God I love that trailer.  The Mary Poppins and Christmas Story recuts are great too.

Did they ever include Judge's original toons that inspired the movie?  I know the original release didn't, but I wasn't sure about the SE that came with a stapler.  I haven't seen those since they were aired on SNL, and that was like 14 years ago.
