Hi all, haven't posted in while. I have 2 cabs already and have made the decision to sell this one. It is almost complete, but I haven't worked on it in some time, and don't have room in my basement.
I wanted a Star Wars cab but when I started cutting out the sides, decided it was to too much so I built it after a Tempest template. I don't claim its my best piece of work, it needs another coat of paint on the sides, the tmolding is not fitted right in a couple of places, etc, but it is solidly built. If you search the projects forum, you should still find I hope examples of my other 2 cabs (3 really, I sold one). Star Wars yoke I bought off ebay, new happs shifter and pedals wired to the AKI Interface I think its called. It works, I was able to play Star Wars. Has a minpac, works but I was not able to program it for some reason--jumpers were all set correctly but I couldn't get it to work, that's where I stopped in frustration. New spinner I think from slikstik (this was all over 1-2 years ago I bought this stuff), supposedly new coin door from ebay, VGA monitor I think a VisionPro from Happs, does 800x600.
So, there you go, I am just looking to recover the money for the parts (yoke especially) that I could get off of ebay. Make reasonable offer. I am 100 miles southwest of St. Louis. I have a truck and *may* be able to work a delivery but wouldn't be quick. If you need more info, let me know, thanks.
*forgot to add, I took the computer and speakers out, but otherwise is ready to go. I will throw in the smartstrip if I can find it in my garage.
*EDIT* willing to sell w/yoke for $400. I figure SW yokes go for $200 now on ebay and the rest of the parts I hope are worth that much, so basically you are getting the cab for free! Possibly willing to sell w/o yoke also, if cab doesn't sell soon I will take any reasonable offer. thanks,
-
anyone? would it better if I parted out the yoke and just sold the rest of cab? with or w/o the other controls?

It's a nice looking cabinet. You might be better off asking for an amount.
-
added price in first post, thanks
-
anyone want to buy the cab w/o yoke? If I could get the cab minus yoke sold, I would then be willing to sell the yoke buy itself. thanks,
-
somebody make me a reasonable offer so I can get this thing out of my garage! Winters coming!!!
-
hi
ever get up to chicago
jeff
-
not chicago, we could possibly meet in St. Louis or somewhere on the east side, Belleville?
-
Ever make it to the Cincinnati area? (I don't have a vehicle right now?)
So the monitors gone now? What size monitor is it setup for? (hard to tell if its 19 or 24/25 from the pictures)
I might be interested... but travel would be the biggest problem (and realistically... the deal breaker). But timing isn't an issue if you ever make it out this way.

Hi, the monitor is still there, all it should need is a comp and speakers to get going. I am willing to make you deal, $200 for it all, you get it out of my garage! You can sell the yoke on ebay for about that and have a free cab.
thanks,
-
PM sent pinballjim...

hey folks, glad to see someone on this board getting this, you are getting a good deal! But, don't feel bad for me b/c I'm getting my garage back in time for winter! I hope you can finish it out so it sees some playing time.
anyways, I am out of town all day friday, returning late. I may be able to have someone at the house after 5pm if you really want to pick it up that day. I will be home almost all day Saturday, then gone again Sunday, another work trip :(
welcome to email me at bds (at) rollanet (dot) org and I'll give you a phone number and we can talk, thanks.
-
hey, you guys still interested? let me know, thanks,
-
pinballjim, I sent you a pm.
thanks,
-
thought I would try one more time, any interest in buying this cab with working star wars yoke? it will go cheap, cheap, cheap!
-
dweebs0r, check your pm!
thanks,
-
Did dweebs end up buying this? Seems like a great deal. Out of curiousity what size is the monitor?
-
I pm'd you earlier but anyway...
Is this cab still available? I live in N.E. Arkansas, but was in Springfield, Cabool area Saturday. Wish I had known about the cab then so I could have tried to make arangements to come by. If it is still available, I would like to try to work something out.
-
kilroy, yep still available! check your pm for my contact info, thanks.
-
I would buy this cab from you, because my Tempest cabinet conversion type of thing (like yours) isn't going along so well. The only problem is having it shipped to where I live: Lewiston ID, 83501. If it is still for sell and you would be willing to ship it for me (i.e. get a hold of UPS or something), then we can talk. It may take me aboot 2-3 weeks to work up the cash because this check is already spent on other arcade stuff & an engagement ring. But we can work something out.

As I posted in your "Converting a Tempest cabinet into a driving game" thread, I have already purchased this cab and it is currently in my game room. I would be happy to help if you are having trouble and are interested in any of the details of the cab.
