Title: Mame Movie Intros
Post by: eweaver6089 on August 31, 2006, 02:36:13 pm
I have noticed there are mame arcade movies out there on the internet.  I would like to add this to my mame cab, but was wondering if most people add these to there windows startup folder or is there a way or folder inside of mame.  By the way I am using Mame32 version .101u4.  Thanks in advance.

Not sure about Atomic.???

Of course it can! Specify "Custom Loading Screen" under Options in AtomicManager...

However, I believe the movies of which you speak are the game previews, when selected in the front end list - and once again, yes - Atomic can display these as well. You specify the video folder, and when there is a video for a particular game, Atomic will display the video instead of the screen shot.

Cool ....Sounds like those 3 FE's can all do those things then. I'm sure others do to.

The Wiki shows FE's that can play Videos instaed of a screen shot but not if a start-up vid is an option

I got the impression he was after a start up video as he was referring to the windows start up folder.

That's correct.  I downloaded the arcade'84 mpeg and noticed it was referred to as an intro video.  Just thought it would be a nice add-on to my mame cab.  I appreciate the responses.  I will look into using one of the front ends and see how it turns out.  Thx.
