First off I'm Broke, with that out of the way I recently aquried a cabinet with everything except the monitor for next to nothing. Now buying a new 25" monitor is prob out of the question. But I do have a 21" vga monitor and 25 tube TV collecting dust in my basement. My Options:
1. Buy a chassis to be used with older TV tubes for fairly low cost.
2. Buy a cga to vga converter for about the same price
3. Buy a used 19" monitor (non refurbished)
All of these are within five bucks of each other. Never replaced a chassis because I never had a reason to. How easy is it to perform bodily harm the first time. The latter two options are eaier to do but I would have to brace a 19" in what should be a 25" space.
opinions?

Well let me rephrase my original post:
Has anyone ever used a line doubler (cga to vga conv.) and if so what was the quality.
Has anyone ever used a chassis made for a TV tube and what was the quality.

whats the 25 tube like,no burn in?if its in great condition and depending what you want to do with the cab then i would suggest contacting alva amusements to see if they have a wei-ya chassis that will just go straight on(you have to tell them the tube size, neck pins amount and yoke impedence)
