Title: i have cps 1/2/3 roms what emulator can i use to play them?

Hello i just recently recieved all the cps roms. i think they are capcom roms or something. I need an emulator to run them. i'v heard kawaks might run them is this true? is there another which will run them? any help would be great thanks!

I understand that mame runs roms but like nintendo roms are for nintendo i thought cp roms were designed for emulators like kawaks or something....

MAME is not like other emulators.  MAME emulates hundreds of hardware types whereas other emulators only emulate one hardware type.  CPS, Neo Geo, whatever, they're all able to run in MAME.

Well not all, but about 3500 games and counting.  It's really foolish of you to question us on this issue.  When the cps roms got into mame it was a BIG deal and everybody who knows anything about mame knows they run in there.  :D

Yeah.. and cps3 roms are unemulated, unless you have a modified toaster.

I have a question here though.

I got some roms yesterday in the mail(tombstone) and I have Mars Matrix rom in there too.

NOW,I installed latest mame and tried playing it says error in .CRC something and it wont load.

BUT,I leeched a beta version of final burn alpha from one of the guy working for the emu and MARS MATRIX PLAYS..some graphics are missing but still plays.
now whats the deal with mame no playing mars matrix? ???

Seriouslly dont get it..if the rom was bad then it wouldnt load using finalburn either right?

anyone has any clue on this?  ???

first mars matrix is the cps2 rom, not a cps3....

second get a rom verifying tool

I know mars matrix is cps2.
Did I ever say mar matrix was cps3? :P
The roms works perfectly with finalburn but i will go try some verifying tools now and see what happens..
