Title: tube/chassis compatibility
Post by: shess on August 28, 2006, 06:26:53 pm
So I just acquired a tv to do a tube swap.  Well the problem is that the tube is a 10 pin neck with a 52 ohm yoke and my k7000 is an 8 pin neck with a 13 ohm yoke.  However it looks like the electrohome g07 has the same electrical characteristics as my tube but I'm concerned that the tube might still not look right if I just hook up the g07 chassis to it.  The tube model number is GE A48ACE26X.  How likely is this to work?  I'm trading my k7000 to a guy for his g07 tomorrow, so I'd like to know before I do it if it'll work.

Thanks,
Scott

May work but require some tweaking.  If it doesn't work you can always swap it back.

Well the thing is, I'm not actually doing a tube swap.  I want to use the purity rings and yoke from the tv tube along with a new chassis and the g07 has the correct pinout, not my k7000.  So if the g07 doesn't work, I won't have anything that works.
