Joymonkey, if you'd like to handle running a set, I would be willing to drive up to your place to get them and handle collecting all of the payments and make shipments. The one thing I can't do is the art, that would take me forever as I don't have the spare time it requires.
So, if someone here can prep the artwork for him, I can collect payments, deliver the money to Joymonkey, and then collect the pieces from him and ship them to each buyer. Plus I'll buy him the beer.
Stencilsonline uses mylar and recommends a low tack spray adhesive.

Would you be able to do it from this (http://www.localarcade.com/arcade_art/details.php?image_id=395&mode=search)? I believe that is where it the artwork for this project started.
That's the 'ready to trace' bitmap and isn't suited to production, although it is proportioned perfectly. From the proof he posted on page 1, it looks like PCates has been using this one as a base;

Unfortunately, the proportions of a lot of things are off in that version; the Ms.Pac-Man logo is too small and positioned too far right, the border elements are too light and the lower stripe is too wide (as is it would cut into the front of a real Ms.Pac cab). The overall shape of the cabinet side is wrong too. I'd imagine all this is what PCates has had StencilsOnline correct, and I can see why that might take some time.
This Re-Union artwork is proportioned more accurately, but has some heavy black strokes that weren't in the original Ms.Pac sideart;

The Ms.Pac character sitting on the logo is missing some details too, but it shouldn't be too difficult to correct.
Here's a PDF to illustrate some of the proportion problems with the files from Mahuti's art library (not that I'm blaming anyone or nit-picking, just trying to figure out the inconsistencies).

Don't worry about the artwork files, I did most of the work on them this morning and plan on finishing up over the weekend. If I'm going to be cutting them myself, I'm better off knowing the ins and outs of each piece anyway.
-
Awesome. I'm looking forward to the reports on how they turned out. My stripped cab is sitting there all naked waiting for paint.
What colors are you using? I hear the old Glidden Ms.Pacman formulas doesn't match anymore since they updated their mix base.
-
Right. I've seen three Ms.Pac cabs and one Reunion over the last few days and the color differences between them all are so huge it's really hard to tell which colors are the closest to the original. None of the blues match the current 'Glidden Rhapsody', but I think I'll just get our paint supplier to match the Glidden colors as best they can and forget about it. The cabs I've seen are all ancient looking and must have a good layer of dirt on them as well as sun-fading.
It's just one of those things I think I should be really picky about, but when it comes down to it nobody's really going to notice.

Question; should the stencil's yellow and pink colors be overlaped by the black a little?
What I mean is, should the yellow areas have a small contour added (say about 1/32"), so the black layer overlaps it a little, to make alligning the black layer a little easier.
-
Right.
I'll add 1/32" to give you a little play when lining up the black layer.
I'll also see if I can get semi-transparent paint-mask-vinyl with a clear plastic backer, so you can see exactly where you're positioning each layer over the previous layer. I'm not 100% sure if that stuff exists though.
-
If you add some positional marks that would work too. Maybe a removable square at the top and bottom in the exact same spot on each stencil.
Yeah, registration marks like that are essential.

Well??????
It's been a couple months....what's the verdict; did the project work out; do you have any surplus for sale?
Is there going to be another group pool, I'd really like to get in on one if this was successful and people are happy with them.
-
To my knowledge, none were produced.

I wondered where this thread got moved to. Every now and then I do open up the file and do some work on it; it's very slowly but surely coming together.
Edit: And where'd all the replies go? Looks like I'm talking to myself up there.
-
You're right... most of the thread is gone. And this was originally in buy/sell, not here.
I wonder what happened with all the poor people who got ripped off by that other guy.
