Title: WG 25k5506?? I cant find any reference about it
Post by: dcarpa on August 23, 2006, 10:11:03 pm

I have acquired a Leland Quarteback game which has a "dead" 25" WG monitor which is labeled monitor model WG 25K5506. I've found a manual for a WG5515 - any chance these are basically the same??

Next question would be what the repair process is - I've got a decent background in electronics, just not monitors so I'm still learning the lingo. The flyback transformer appears to have burnt - I'll get a pic of it up soon, but my first shot was to find out the manual and start to get my head around the workings

FYI - My game room includes:
-Pole Position (fully working)
-Centipede (working, monitor needs some adjustment and the ball isnt silky smooth, but it plays pretty good)
-Space Invaders Deluxe (the cpu appears to have gone, just started on this one, pretty good shape though, cool cardboard background)
-Leland Quarterback (game actually plays...heard it play...have not seen it)
-Qbert converted to Capcom bowling converted to a MAME ArcadeOS cabinet on the original Qbert monitor for vertical games; works great; mainly Mr. Do, Ms Pacman, Galaga
-Mr Do's castle converted to a 23" TV with a computer running VGA out for nintendo emaulation, first person shooters, MP3 audio control center, TV for having the a football game on in the background.......

The 5500 series is medium res conversion of a 4900 series. Uses the same capkit as a 4900.

If the flyback is shot good luck trying to find one. They've been unavailable for years.
